I'm making an onion dip and the recipe calls for 5 cups of Crushed pineapple but all I have is pineapple tidbits, they look like they're the same size?

They'll work, but the dip will have chunks of pineapple. The crushed pineapple doesn't have those little chunks. You can put the tidbits in a food processor first to get rid of the chunks.

Crushed pineapple is like if you took the tidbits and ground them up. They are really really tiny pieces and they are mixed in with the juice. You could drain the tidbits and chop them up in real tiny pieces. Does your recipe ask you to drain the pineapple or add the whole can. If it is drained you could just chop the tidbits and add them....if it is the whole can then you would need to add them back to the juice before measuring.

The taste is the same. The tidbits would really be too large in a dip.

Pineapple tidbits are very similar to pineapple chunks. If there's a difference it tends to be that tidbits are smaller....Crushed pineapple.is tiny little pieces of pineapple. ...
