The hot dog itself not exactly the topping on top.

Cut it down the middle and put some Jalapenos in it, wrap it in tin foil and bake, take out the chillies and put them on top of the thing with onion and sauce. It just makes the hotdog spicy.

I like to roll the dog and cut a spiral slice. When the hot dog cooks, the slice opens up to create a "Screw Thread" pattern. On a grill, the edges brown or blacken which adds a lot of flavor.

I take a pan of water, a tablespoon of salt and 1-2 whole cloves of garlic. Then I add the hot dogs to the pan and put the heat on low. This flavor is how every hot-dog cart in the country keeps the dogs hot and ready for hours.

Slice it open lengthwise a little over halfway through, then insert cheese in the opening. The spicier the cheese, the better. There's a good jalapeno cheese available at your grocer's that is perfect for that.
