If you have no experience in the culinary field, you'll have to start at the bottom. Either a bus person or a dishwasher. you'll be making probably minimum wage to start. You'll have to work hard, be punctual and stick with it to get anywhere. I had to wash dishes for a year before I started training as a breakfast cook. I started making $10 an hour once I proved I could work without constant supervision. Then I was trained for dinner and moved up in pay. I ran my own kitchen in a well-known restaurant for dinner for over a year, making $12. I'm currently applying for a job in another kitchen where they pay their cooks $14 start, DOE. If they think I'm worth it, they'll pay me that much. If you go to school, you won't have to start at the bottom. You'll work an apprentiship making decent money, eventually running your own kitchen.
