I'm making a chipped beef and cheese ball and would love to know where this "chipped beef" product is located at the grocery store. I've never heard of it. Any name brands to look for specifically?

It's near the canned tuna, chicken etc. Some stores don't have it though. I buy the Hormel brand. Makes great S.O.S.-creamed chipped beef on toast.

Armour brand still puts in out in a "family size" envelope package that's mostly blue. Then there are the 2 1/2 ounce jars - clear glass with red or blue lids. I find it near the canned meats like tuna or deviled ham or chicken or Viennese sausages.

The other name for chipped beef is dried beef.

Yes, I can't find it in packages anymore, You can find it in jars tho. Like the little glasses that the different cheeses come in. Ask someone at the store. It's with the canned meats like Spam, Deviled Ham, Swansons Chicken, That kind of thing. Good luck

I see them near the bacon and sausage, prepackaged lunch meats, and breakfast meats section, because it is classically used for Creamed Chip Beef. I honestly don't know which brands you should use because this is not one of my favorite dishes, sorry. But, I would go with a trusted name that makes other breakfast meats to be safe and sure. Hope this helps you out today!

My Mom still buys this in the frozen food (tv dinners) aisle at the grocery store.

I have seen it in the refrigerated luncheon meats department and also in the canned meats department in a glass jar.
