Ii've used this one myself many a times and if I weren't so lazy I'd never buy store bought again.

Just mix all the following together and store it in an airtight container until you are ready to use it.

1 tablespoon chili powder

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin

1 teaspoon sea salt - you can use regular salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

Hope you like it! :)

I tend to cook by smell rather than by the measuring cup, but some common ingredients that make for good taco seasoning are garlic powder, salt (not too much), sugar (in small amounts to take the edge off the heat), black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, chili powder, celerey or celery salt and just a dash of flour (preferable yellow corn flour). I also usually brown the meat in a little worcestershire sauce.

Hope that helps. Cheers!

oh yeah! onion powder too!

Use salt pepper and cumin. then add garlic powder and onion powder about 1/2 teaspoon of each. It will work just as good as any taco seasoning you can buy premade. Cumin is the same as comino, which is what gives tacos the taco taste.

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon dried onion flakes

1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar

This is an awesome flavor combination...the beef bouillon give it an all day cooked taste and really give the beef bold taste. Another good thing is this recipe isn't too salty and weird ingredients like those packaged mixes.

This is also really good made with chicken...just substitute chicken bouillon instead of the beef bouillon.

Hope this help and i hope you like it.

For four people:

2 teaspoons onion powder (or 1 medium minced onion)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or 2 cloves minced fresh garlic)

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper

1 teaspoon paprika (optional - for color)

1/2 teaspoon cornstarch (optional - for texture)

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano leaves (you can also use basil and marjoram if you like)

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin seeds

If you use powdered onion and garlic you can store the mixture for 6 months in an airtight container to use again.

cook and remove the fat from 1 lb of ground beef or turkey. The "seasoning packet" you will make will consist of 1 tablespoon corn starch, 1/2 tsp red pepper, 1/4 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp of chili powder, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder and 1 tbsp of onion flakes or 1/2 tsp of onion powder. Add 1/4 of a cup of water to the ground beef and bring to a boil. Add the seasoning mix you prepared to the boiling water and bring the heat down to low. Simmer until it thickens. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Invest in Knorr Caldo de Tomate-tomato bouillon. You can use it in all Mex cooking. Add some of that, not too much its salty, cumin and ground pepper corn. I like to add tomato sauce with a little water. Make sure to brown meat with minced garlic 1-2 cloves, onions 1/2 cup. If you want to get creative, add corn or cubed potatoes.

Taco seasoning is chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, tomato sauce & paprika. Chili powder, tomato sauce & cumin are the 3 most important.

I use chili powder to taste, a small amount of garlic powder, and a small amount of onion powder. I do it all to taste, but there is more chili powder than the rest. I also throw in a couple tablespoons of salsa.
