The recipe you are looking for might be one of these:

ICE CREAM NUT HORNS

1 pt. French vanilla ice cream

1 lb. butter

4 c. flour

FILLING:

1 1/2 lb. ground walnuts

8 egg whites

2 c. sugar

2 tsp. vanilla

Dough: Melt ice cream at room temperature. Melt butter over low heat. Combine butter and ice cream until well blended. Mix in flour, refrigerate overnight.

Filling: Beat egg white, sugar and vanilla until well blended. Add nuts and mix well. Roll out dough (about 1 cup at a time) on a powdered sugar board, spread with filling (not too thick), cut into 3-4 inch squares and roll up diagonally. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 325 degrees until light brown (20-25 minutes).

NUT HORNS

4 sticks of butter

1 pt. of ice cream

5 cups sifted flour

When soft, blend first two ingredients together. Add 5 cups sifted flour. Work with dough until all the flour is worked in and shape into a loaf. Cut into 4 parts and wrap each in wax paper and refrigerate.

NUT FILLING:

4 c. ground nuts

4 tbsp. lemon juice

10 tbsp. sugar

Or you may use Bakers filling. Mix all together. Heat 1/2 cup milk to boiling. Mix in the nut mixture until thickened.

Take one package of dough out at a time. Roll out on powdered sugar until thin like pie dough. Cut into squares and fill with nut mixture and roll it up like a small curve and put on greased cookie sheet, about 3 dozen on an average sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
