Safe(ish) way to eat raw eggs?

Hi,
Well I would just like to start off by saying I would cook eggs if I could, but sadly I live in a dorm where I don't have access to a stove. Anyways, I'm just looking for a way to add some more (healthy) calories to my rushed breakfasts. The idea of just cracking a few into a cup and gulping them down seems like an easy (albeit not too pleasant) way of adding some protein.

I was researching on the risks, and apparently only 1 in 30,000 eggs are infected with salmonella. Also, while salmonella can get inside of eggs through cracks, most of the time it is just on the outside. So I plan on at least washing the outside with soap and water if not also putting a little hand sanitizer on it which will lower that number even more.

I understand it won't be completely safe, but I'm just trying to make it as safe as possible. Is there anything else I can do to lessen the risk any further?

Thanks

you are wrong about salmonella only being on the shell.

If the chicken is infected with salmonella, the bacteria is INSIDE the egg, not just on the shell.

Egg shells are porous. Washing it with soap and water AND hand sanitizer exposes YOU to the soap and water AND the triclosan in the sanitizer, which is dangerous. Many people have become ill from hand sanitizer.

do you have a microwave in your room?

You can make scrambled eggs in there very easily. Simply mix a tablespoon of milk or water with 1 egg. Beat lightly and microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring well, microwave again until it is just barely done.

allow to rest for a moment to finish cooking on its own and you have a perfect scrambled egg in just moments. Over cooking makes them tough and you will soon learn not to do that.

add about 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce, and drink.

A couple of Tbsp of peanut butter or 2 oz of almonds is a safer and more pleasant way to get the same protein and less saturated fat.

Prairie oyster on the half shell. One egg at a time, in a small cup or bowl, add about 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce, and drink.
