Okay, I really need the recipe for the Vegan Gumbo from the Royal Streets Veranda in Disneyland.
I'm having no luck finding it on the internet anywhere.
I need it for a friend.
It's really important that i find this exact recipe.
If any of you have a link or the recipe, please post it so that i can give it to my friend.
Thank you in advance!

I think they safe guard that particular one because I have done every search for ages now. From all the posts I read from people that ate there they don't give out that particular recipe & I am sorry but the post underneath me by Dougee is incorrect. Maybe it is for the others, Steak, Chicken, or Seafood but That can't be the Vegan recipe because look at all the meats showing plus there is butter in there. Also flour. All the veggans I know tell me they don't eat flour because they consider it unhealthy. A lot of people believe any food that is highly processed is not as good for you as food that has had little or no processing (like whole grains. Also, while doing my research & read many, many blogs some of the veggans who ate there said themselves that cornstarch is used in the recipe instead of flour...so, just saying the recipe below can't be the Veggan...that seems to be something unattainable..lol...I also have to note that a reader pointed out in the post that the Veggan gumbo shouldn't be coming in a bread bowl because the bread is made of eggs & flour & possible milk too which veggans avoid....anyways..maybe true veggans don't eat the bread...they said you can ask for it in a regular bowl instead. As I said, I spent almost an hour last night and 30 minutes today researching this info. Good luck once again..lol

I hate leaving you empty handed so I found a recipe online that says it is a true veggan gumbo so maybe you can get this a shot.

Ingredients needed

5 garlic cloves, finely chopped

2 large red onions, chopped

1 large green bell pepper, chopped

4 celery stalks, chopped

12 oz. fresh okra, diced

12 oz. package vegan Italian sausage

½ lb. vegan chicken substitute

25 oz. can stewed tomatoes, Mexican style

1 cup vegan broth

1 tsp. thyme

1 tsp. coriander

½ tsp. hot sauce

Roux directions

Step 1 Heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sautee for 1 minute. Do not allow the garlic to brown.

Step 2 Turn the heat on high and whisk in the flour. Whisk continuously until the mixture turns into a paste and begins to darken.

Step 3 Add the vegan broth and vegan Worcestershire sauce.

Step 4 Continue to whisk until the mixture thickens, for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

Gumbo directions

Step 1 Spray a saucepan with non-stick cooking spray. With the saucepan over medium heat, add the garlic, onion, celery and pepper. Sautee the mixture for 3 minutes.

Step 2 Add the chopped okra and cook for 5 minutes. Add the vegan chicken and cook for 8 more minutes, stirring often.

Step 3 Stir in the sherry and ¾ cups of vegan broth.

Step 4 Place the stewed tomatoes in food processor and blender and chop coarsely. Add the tomato mixture to broth.

step 5 Whisk the remaining 1/4 cup of vegan broth into the roux. Stir the roux into the gumbo.

Step 6 Reduce the heat to low and add the coriander, hot sauce, thyme and vegan Italian sausage.

Step 7 Cook the gumbo for 10 minutes, or until the vegetarian sausage is fully cooked. Serve your piping hot vegan gumbo over rice.

Not sure how you make a vegan gumbo using chicken stock, but this purportedly comes straight from Disney. You can ask for recipes at the firehouse when in the park.

New Orleans Square Gumbo (Steak, Chicken, Seafood, or Veggie)

1 lb Butter

1 lb Flour

22 cups Chicken Stock

6.5 oz Diced Celery

6.5 oz Diced Onions

½ lb Cooked Rice

¾ lb Diced Meat (Chicken, Steak, or Seafood)

2 cups Diced Tomatoes

½ lb Cut Okra

(To taste) Salt

1/8 oz White Pepper

1/8 oz Cayenne Pepper

1/8 oz Gumbo File

4 oz Roux (2 oz. Flour & 2 oz. Butter)

Melt butter in a sauce pan, add flour to make a roux (mix of butter and flour). Cook for ¼ hour, add onion and celery, cook for five minutes, add stock (can be made with a mix of water and chicken base) making sure roux is dissolved completely, simmer for 10 minutes, add remaining ingredients, return to a simmer. Adjust salt to taste.

(Note: if using seafood, add seafood at the last minute, making sure seafood is cooked before removing from pot).

[NOTE: You may notice by the amounts mentioned in the ingredients below that this is the mass-production recipe; you will probably want to adjust the quantity.]
