It's a package of the Bob Evan's kind, I bought it in September, it has a Use By date of 10/17/11, and I kind of left it in there for when I made this big dinner for myself that never happened. So now I want them, but the date is a bit off-putting. Nothing seems wrong by looking at them, but I'm bachelor on my own, so what do I know.

Throw it away and buy a new box - come on dude, they aren't that expensive to where it'll bust your savings account. It's $3.00 box of mashed potatoes not a $25 steak. A few dollars spent is better than getting sick from bad food (I've been there and it's not fun).

I hate Use by dates! They make sense on dairy products or meat - these things can go bad fairly quickly. However, things like instant mashed potatoes will last for a very very long time. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to use the package.

well its probably artificial so there quite a bit of preservatives in it. my question is why would you out it in fridge..



i would not use it ur about 4 months off.
