I put a roast in the oven during my lunch hour and covered it with foil. I know I put enough water and the temp was set at 300 degrees, but I'm worried...will it be okay left unattended until I get home? I put it in at 12:30 and I should be home at 5:30...help!

That sounds very risky to me. 300 is high for 5 hours. Also, you never know what might happen during that 5 hours. A slow cooker is much safer. You can get a decent one for less than $30. Better to spend $30 now than to lose your house later.

Depends on size of roast, size of pot and amount of water.

I would go home early or get someone to check it.

Why take chances? Be safe.

It should be 300 isnt that hot but you should have added a cup of water and cover it tightly.

It should be ok as long as there was enough water. I would have set the temp a little lower.

300 sounds too high to me for 5 hours.

If there was enough liquid and you don't mind if your pot roast is falling apart, then it should be OK.
