Question:
Question on salsa con queso safety?
2008-02-20 12:16:35 UTC
Bought a jar of salsa con queso last night, poured it out of the jar into an uncovered microwave dish and nuked it, yet fell asleep without putting it in the fridge, remembered about it at 1pm this afternoon after it had been out for about 12 hours and put in the fridge. Question, would it be bad to eat tonight? Or is it still good?

Toss it. Good rule of thumb: more than 4 hours at room temperature means it's bad.

Quite salty---will be OK to eat. This business of throwing food away because it sat at room temp is nonsense. The exception would be raw meat. Go for it, honey--ain't nobody gonna die.

toasted challah bread. no humorous tale. that for the period of all risk sounds atypical, despite if it tastes good. in case you haven't any challah bread, use any sort of bread that's no longer candy. purely make valuable it relatively is toasted. Tortillas would be good too
