Anyone use Baker's Corner (carried by Aldi) light corn syrup instead of Karo in a pecan pie recipe?

I was at Aldi today and see that they have their own light corn syrup. I need to make a pecan pie this Saturday and thought about giving this corn syrup a try. Has anyone ever used it instead of Karo? If so how did it turn out?

I have used the Aldi brand for years. No difference that I can see. It will taste fine....no stress!

I'm sure it would be fine. If I were making it, I'd look for a recipe with molasses or maple syrup or Sucanat mixed with water. Some might use something from a plant known as stevia, apparently a good natural sweetener for diabetics. I would also substitute walnuts for the pecans because that's what we have falling around here. Besides, we like walnuts best. Chances are, whatever you make, people are going to love it. I can't see any of these substitutes being that big of a deal.
Whipped cream's always good, though. I like a local brand that's real but made to be lower in fat. Nobody seems to notice the difference. Even those purists who make their own from scratch don't even seem to care one way or the other. Maybe I just know some very polite people.

House brands are the same as the Name brands when it comes to this! I found a pecan pie recipe that does NOT use Karo stuff! It is baked in a Cast Iron Skillet and is the best one yet!
Like Molasses, Cane Syrup and Pancake Syrup they are all the same, and will not affect the out come of the pie, here in Canada we have only one brand, light is fine, dark is better for colour, I would use a bit of brown sugar if you have it, but it is not necessary, the syrup keeps the filling soft and gooey
