How should I cook tofu for a one year old and I?

I bought little cubes of firm tofu for the first time. I have never cooked tofu before and have only eaten it a few times.

I want to find a healthy way to cook it for my one year old girl and I. She's not a picky eater at all and has very adult tastes. She'll eat pretty much anything I put in front of her.

Any ideas? Also, any advice or tips I should know about cooking tofu? Thanks so much!

Haha @ brianna. Don't worry, tofu is definably not seafood.



Hmm tofu ideas. Alright. You could try putting tofu in some miso soup mix. That is really yummy and easy. Just grab a packet of miso soup at your local grocery store, follow the instructions on the package, then add cubed pieces of the tofu. If soup isn't what you're looking for, try this.



-Thaw and drain your tofu

-Slice into small cubes, about the size of dice.

-Slice a part of a root of ginger [about 1/2 of the root. more or less depending on your tastes]

-Take some meat [I recomend chicken or beef] and cut it into small chunks.

-Take some vegetable and slice them to match. You can use whatever is in your fridge but these are my recomendations: Brocolli, one clove of garlic, bell pepper, lettuce, carrot, and a small bit of onion.

-stir fry them together in a small bit of oil, putting the onion and garlic [if you used those] first, then place and meat and allow it to brown a bit before adding the rest of the vegetables. Stir fry for a few minutes with dark soysauce [tamari, regular is fine too. The flavor won't be as rich though] until right before tender [about 5-10 minutes, depending on which vegeables ] then add the tofu in at the last minute

-serve with white rice ^.^

You and your daughter will almost always like this: Thaw and drain the tofu. Once thawed: Put it on a plate with three-four portions of paper towel at the botton and an additional three-four at the best, then an additional plate to weight it. Let take a seat in refrigerator for a million hour. Once tired completely, slice the tofu into enormous chunks. In an non-stick skillet, positioned four T canola oil or peanut oil. Fry the tofu cubes till golden on each and every aspect. This takes a at the same time. Be sufferer. Let drain of oil on extra paper towel. PEANUT SAUCE FOR DIPPING: a million cup peanut butter a million can coconut milk a million tsp. chopped garlic a million/two tsp. ginger (non-compulsory) a million/two tsp. thai garlic chili sauce (close the thai meals on the grocery) a million/two TABlespoon brown sugar (white is OK too) a million/two TABlespoon turmeric Heat on medium till heated and mixed. Continue to cook dinner on medium for 10 minutes, stirring mainly. Serve with tofu chunks. SO GOOD! (I'm making it proper now infact.)

Once drained fully, slice the tofu into large chunks.



In an non-stick skillet, put 4 T canola oil or peanut oil.

Fry the tofu cubes until golden on each side. This takes a while. Be patient.



Let drain of oil on more paper towel.



PEANUT SAUCE FOR DIPPING:

1 cup peanut butter

1 can coconut milk

1 tsp. chopped garlic

1/2 tsp. ginger (optional)

1/2 tsp. thai garlic chili sauce (near the thai foods at the grocery)

1/2 TABlespoon brown sugar (white is OK too)

1/2 TABlespoon turmeric



Heat on medium until heated and combined. Continue to cook on medium for 10 mins, stirring often.



Serve with tofu chunks.



SO GOOD!

I've never tried freezing tofu, we usually buy it and eat it right away. So I can't tell you anything about your product now but we cut it into cubes and toss fry with meat & veggies or put it into soups when the soup is almost done.



It was a white sausageI bought at Safeway (I think it's called British Bangers) but I used to cut them into rounds and toss fry with veggies & tofu for the family.



Tofu is very versatile, it has it's own taste but it's bland.

Yes Tofu can be frozen up to 5 months. make sure you drain it well.



I occasionally eat tofu. I usually cook it like i would cook scramble eggs. I add a little soy sauce to it and add veggies like zucchini and stir fry it in a pan. Tofu by itself is tasteless but it will soak up anything you cook with it.

one year olds arent sapose to eat fish or anythign like sea food i dont exacly no what tofu is but just rmeinding u they arent sapose to have that till they are at least two
