I have really enjoy baking recently, but I have never made anything more "advanced" than cookies, cakes, and pies. Are there any delicious recipes you could suggest to me? I have basic cooking supplies; pots, pans, hand mixer, bowl mixer, rolling pins, etc. The only thing is there can't be any nuts in it because I'm allergic... I really want to try French macarons but they have almonds :(

What about Coconut Macaroons instead? They are out of this world, and fairly simple to boot. I bake mine on parchment paper so they come off cleanly, and dip the bottoms in melted dark chocolate. You might like that combination too! Another fairly simple but impressive dessert would be a cheesecake, perhaps to serve with whatever fresh, seasonal fruit is in your area. Here are two ideas for you.

donuts-

mix 1 cup of milk with 2 eggs

add 2 cups baking mix

add 2 spoons butter

place dough on surface with flower

roll dough to about half inch thick

cut out doughnut shape (I just use a coffe cup and poke a hole in the middle with a rolling pin :P)

put in frying fan of hot oil

flip until both sides r light brown

( also I really like ur profile pic and I c other peoples accounts with cartoon profiles like urs, if u rate my answer best can u tell me how u did that, thx)

drain remaining oil on paper towel

add toppings (sprincles, icing, nutella...) these doughnuts turn out great and u can make them from things that u already have in the kitchen :)

if u don't have baking mix this is how u make it:

mix 5 cups flower, 1/4 cups baking powder, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp salt and one cup of butter. (this will make about six cups) hope this helped :)

Why not try a Pavlova? ridiculously delicious and still pretty aprochable. And it has a fancy name that makes everyone think you've cooked a pastry masterpiece. And it's great for summer. And it has some similarities with macoroons. hum, i'd fancy a pav myself right know ahaha
