The difference in any method of cooking is how you apply heat either dry or moist to cook your food. Frying/stir frying when you heat up the wok/pan, add your ingredients and keep stiring/tossing the ingredients till cooked. Saute is when you heat up your wok/pan, with a little oil, then you toast your garlic /onions (usually) to sweat it out till light brown to bring out the fragrance. Roasting is of course, you marinate your meat, poultry (in large pieces) etc and slowly let it braize inside a set temperature oven to cook and of course grill is basically you put your marinated meat, poultry, seafood etc (usually in smaller pieces) and you cook on one side, flip it over and cooked the other side to doneness. There are also, steaming, deep fried, poaching, blanching, searing, broiling, pan frying, boiling, baking, stewing, braising, etc to name just a few *

Frying is when over 3 tablespoons of oil is used after that amount it would be classed as frying. frying is using oil to cook foods and it bring colour, taste mainly a crispy, crunchy taste which is the most unhealthy

saute is to get the flavour out of the ingredients and to bring colour and texture to them you would saute onions for example. another term is called letting the food sweat so bringing out the juices in them dry cooking them in less oil which is mainly just to prevent sticking

roast is to cook outside-in meaning it will colour outside and cook inside it's a healthy option to take it has less oil involved and in some cases no oil is needed it brings colour, texture. it uses dry heat that has been spreaded all over the oven.

grill is to cook the top of food.. it brings crispy/ well cooked tops of food it can cook food all the way through is mainly used for melting and making things more crunchy (example cheese on toast, creme brulee) this is using no cooking agent and can be used for different kinds of foods

I would say that fry covers any cooking in a pan with oil, be it immersed in it or done on a hot oiled surface.

Roast can be done by either very hot hair like in an oven or at a distance from a source of heat like in the case of open doors/spit roasting.

Grill is when the food is cooked with heat from underneath it or from above. This particular technique seems to vary from country to country e.g. In the UK the preference is to grill with heat from above, while in Spain is done underneath mostly,

Fry: in oil (deep or shallow fried).

Saute: It's adding normal oil and cooking vegetable till it tenders. (normally with onions)

Roast: Roast in oven or on fire without oil (roaste chicken, nuts - till it browns in order to dry them)

Grill: can be with little oil and on fire (strong direct heat downwards to cook or sometimes on a flat metal frame which is possibly electric) e.g. chicken, meat, sausages, we grill bread sandwich too

for actual grilling fire is a must.roast can be done in ovens running on electricity.frying requires lot of oil.saute is just a hint of oil so that the food doesnt burn when you are cooking.it acts as a medium to keep hte food and the pan smooth.

Cooking approaches are.... 1. Baking 2. Boiling three.Frying four. Whip 5. Cube 6.Marinate.................. Cooking method is how you go about every method. 1. Bake in four hundred degree oven using the core shelf 2.Put in a big stew pot and utterly quilt with water. Deliver to rapid boil.......................... Chopping could be a approach of preparing whatever. Add the vegetables to a food processor and chop to pea measurement pieces......Can be a cooking method.
