Size of a kitchen has little to do with results.

Curry done properly is very difficult.

Pasta is simple. Start with whole grain vermicelli or very thin pasta. Boil water to a rolling boil in a very large pot. More water makes the pasta better. Add a pinch of salt and a little olive oil. Boil until it is cooked enough for your taste. Tongs are great for picking out strands to test. Pour through a colander and then add butter and garlic or your favorite sauce.

Baked chicken is easy. Directions. Put chicken on a wire rack with a baking sheet below to catch drippings. Baking paper on the baking sheet makes cleanup a snap. Put the baking sheet on the lowest shelf. Preheat oven to 300°F and then put the rack with chicken above the sheet.

Cook until skin is golden and crisp. Check with meat thermometer to the bone. If you don't have a thermometer, just cut a thick place and check for doneness.

A good salad is romaine lettuce, shredded carrot, leaf spinach and other veggies. Super easy. Use any dressing you want. My children like lemon and a touch of sugar.

(1) Cookbooks

(2) Videos and websites

(3) TV cooking shows

(4) Evening adult cooking classes (not for academic credit), usually held by the Continuing Education department of the local School Board.

(5) KIND OLDER NEIGHBOUR WOMEN WHO KNOW HOW TO COOK ... and some of them would be happy to help you out by coming over and cooking a meal WITH you. She will suggest a dish to cook, you will buy the ingredients ahead of time.

It would be a kind gesture to feed her as well as the two of you, once the meal has been cooked. Since home-cooking is cheaper than fast food, you should be able to manage this once a week.

Presuming you can read, you follow a recipe. Recipes are step-by-step instructions on how to make a particular dish.

Your local library is FULL of cookbooks. The internet abounds with free recipes and cooking tutorials as well.

As with anything, reading the directions and following them is important as is practicing and learning from your mistakes.

Start with fairly easy recipes and watch cooking videos on youtube. Videos are helpful because it's easier to show someone how to julienne something than to explain it.

allrecipes.com is my favorite recipe website. Each recipe has reviews from people who have made it and will tell you if it's good or not. They'll also give you suggestions on ways to change the recipe to be even better.

buy a cookbook or find a good recipe website! Read a lot of recipes and print off those you want to try. Follow instructions exactly! Learn measuring techniques! Don't be afraid to try recipes!

There are many ways:

1) Visit your local library and read up on cooking.

2) Browse websites on cooking - there are millions.

3) Watch YouTube vidoes on cooking - there are also millions.

First, "curries" aren't difficult unless you'll be selecting, grinding, toasting, etc, all the spices yourself. Instead just use a "curry powder" or a "curry paste" or even a "curry sauce" which will all have done those things for you. Those will vary in taste and heat depending on the brand.

Check out these recipes for "easy curries":

As for pastas, look here:

It can be good to look for videos (at YouTube, etc) for any dishes or foods you want to cook as well because then you'll actually see what's being done rather than just text and perhaps pictures.**

There are other suggestions for healthy easy dinners for beginners in some of my previous answers:

Best of luck to you guys!!!!!

There are a lot of very good recipe websites you can use, especially ones that have a "Simple and Easy" or "Quick and Easy" category. You can also read the reviews to find out if you will like the food or not. Start simple, and then you will gradually get better/find it easier. http://allrecipes.com/recipes/1947/everyday-cooking/quick-and-easy/

Start with easy things. For instance spaghetti is good you can just heat up jarred spaghetti sauce. Sandwiches of any kind. Google recipes for beginners. Until you get the hang of it prepackaged and frozen foods can give variety and in the long run cheaper then take out.

The library has lots of cook books. Youtube videos are really helpful as well.
