Yes, dear ... in some sausages there are and there is for sure in "head cheese". You can actually see the cross section of their snouts.

I think, apart from the spleen, they use everything of the animal to make sausages. But you shouldn't throw up at the knowledge of this. They are valuable parts, just like the legs or the back etc. full of protein, fats etc. It is not only in cheap sausages, in the old days when they finished cutting all the meat, the leftovers were stuffed into the instestine of the animal to make sausages. Perfectly acceptable practice and not the invention of the mass producers!

please do not believe all the hype about sausage it just a case of you get what you pay for . . . the cheaper the sausage the more risk of it being poor ingredients . . go to a butchers and buy their fresh sausage and you will be fine but beware any meat that you buy in a TIN and always read the packaging if it ever says the words MECHANICALLY RECLAIMED MEAT don't touch it ever it is grey when it comes out of the machine and it has to be coloured to look like meat. . . as a general rule i eat nothing processed IE:if i have chicken dippers i have to be able to see lean meat not some flaky mosh . . . and the show you watched rarely shows the true content of foods its popularity rests on its ability to shock . . . its like buying a new phone . . you know what you want in your phone so you would read every box and would avoid the crap ones till you fond the one you want . .

This would depend on the sausage...some use quality meats in their sausage...and charge a good bit for it.But,

Its more likely that the snout of the pig is used to make head cheese,opposed to being wasted as a sausage filler.

I'm a bit confused by your disgust... like there is any difference in muscles/tendons/fat etc from one part of a pig to another.

You can get "prime meat" sausages which are supposed to be made of more acceptable cuts but they are more expensive.

as I understand pigs are skinned there for NO..

as for the muscles (MEAT)..?? the processors try to use every piece of meat and waste nothing..anything not meat is then rendered,,, Boiled and other processes preformed to waste nothing...

Wouldn't doubt it...hot dogs are made from pig ears and noses. They are a step up from dog food (whatever they don't put into hot dogs they cook into dog food). I'm an american though, so that's how I roll.
