I am a great fan of cupcakes. I love to make them. I love to eat them. I love to look at them. I love to see them.

I want to start a cupcake business... I want to make homemade cupcakes with homemade icing. I would like to sell the as individuals, half a dozen, and a bakers dozen. The cupcakes would be made to order. I would like to offer different cake types and colors of icing. (Time will bring on new creations!) I would offer simple writing, arrangements, and fillings in the cakes.

How much would you pay for a great cupcake with yummy icing?

Thanks in advance!

As far as how much would I pay, well I am a cake decorator/baker myself so I would probibly just make it myself! ;) But honestly I have had a $5 cupcake that at first I was cautious but I must say it was the best I have ever had! On a serious note being in the buisness I don't know if you plan on doing this out of your home or renting a space, just be careful in researching as far as codes in your area for small buisness's as this is really what you will be. You also may need to be approved and liscensed through your local health department before you can legally advertise your buisness and charging customers.

Best of luck, and a tip from experience... once your up and going the more creative you can be the better you can't even imagine the flavor combinations we have tried out, some sounded so crazy but now are the best sellers so you never know!

Well, Sprinkles cupcakes sell for about $3 each. So I think it depends on how well you market the idea. They also have great packaging, boxes that hold the cupcakes still when in transit, and tons of novelty flavors. I think $1.50 is reasonable, but it depends on your market area, and how well you market your idea. Sprinkles cupcakes sell like crazy in Bev. Hills because of the celeb appeal and clever marketing. Good luck on your venture!
