i was reading a recipe and it said 1/4 cup of milk scaled and cooled to lukewarm what is scaled milk and how do you scale it, i need and anwser pronto its for 4-h and its due thursday, but i need the recipe so i can buy the stuff i need.

You are looking to "scald" milk-not "scale it". Just heat the milk on a stove top to over 114 degrees farenheit. If you don't have a thermometer, cook it until it bubbles a little around the edges but remove before boiling. It should also smell different....

Think that should be 'scald' not 'scale'. Scalded milk is milk heated to just below boiling point then cooled. As soon as bubbles start to appear remove from the heat and allow to cool.

I believe that the word you're looking for is "scald", not scale. Scalding is to bring a liquid to just under boiling. As it cools a skin will form on the top. If it comes to a boil, then you've cooked it too long.

its not scaled, its scalded which means heated to a certain temperature and then cooled.
