Dogs really don't need carbs. Cornmeal is about the worst thing you can give a pet. Some animals are sensitive to corn and it gives them diarrhea, some are sensitive to wheat.
If you insist on making dog biscuits, please use oats, and some egg, wheat germ, brewers yeast, anything nutritious. Stay away from spices, salt, sugar, dairy, and white flour.

If you want to make dog jerky treats, try slicing some raw beef roast into thin strips, thread the ends through tooth picks, and dry out in your oven or on food dehydrator. Dogs LOVE jerky. Do not season the beef - garlic and onions are bad for dogs, they don't need salt and pepper, and anything else is toxic.
Dogs love chicken jerky also.
