I eat them with gusto, but I make sure that it is good quality, and that it is very well cooked. I prefer to make my own sausages, as it's impossible to be absolutely sure what meat or how much meat they include in supermarket and butcher's sausage.

Pork is really hard to digest, and the collagen used in sausage skins simply can't be digested by some people, which is probably what accounts for the nausea that some feel when eating this type of food. I for one, make skinless sausage, which are fine for everything except barbecuing.

Probably the disgust comes from the religious traditions of Islam and Judaism, which label the pig as a dirty animal. It is true that in China, pigs are fed on human excrement, but then this is a nation which from time to time eats anything that moves. Thankfully, with humane farming and careful feeding practise, pork is perfectly safe- like all things, in moderation.

Nope. Pork is delicious. It's only depressing to watch so many people ask so many stupid questions here on Yahoo answers. It's also depressing to see so many spammers. I think I'll have some sliced smoked sausage and rice to feel better. I like spam too, the canned pork, much better than reading spam, the unsolicited commercial links. Pork links are just wonderful by comparison. Those pigs aren't trying to sell me something. Beef, chicken, and turkey sausages are good too, and I don't feel like mooing, scratching for insects, or doing gobbling sounds, either, after I eat them.

Every time I eat pork I get really bad emotions for days afterwards. Hopelessness, anger, resentment. I imagine this is what the pigs feel in captivity... I once heard that we absorb the emotional memories of the animal we eat (not so different from the well-documented phenomenon wherein heart transplant recipients take on personality traits of their donor). I would be curious to try eating wild caught boar, or at least wild deer, and see if it still makes me feel this way.

Being a vegetarian I haven't intentionally eaten any meat for just under 10 years, but when I had just started out, I accidently ate meat on quite a few occasions. I know exactly what you mean when you say your mind is unclear and you are kind of depressed. You feel like you have ended a life yourself, put an existence to an end, etc.

The only people who may feel bad after ingesting por or pork products are people who may have an allergy to it. Otherwise it's quite tasty and has less fat than beef.

I feel bad if the sausages haven't been cooked properly but I assume this isn't what you meant by 'feeling bad'......

Of course. Pigs are actually more intelligent than dogs. They were forced to suffer and go through torture all so you could get some pork on you fork. I, like other vegetarians and vegans, act by my conscience, not by my tastebuds.

If you have a real connection with animals on This earth you should feel bad. i am a vegetarian and have been for 4 years. when I was little whenever i ate meat i would first ask for its permission and still feel bad after eating it. i know that sounds weird but, animals are important too. i do feel your pain.
