I ate the do not eat packet in my beef jerky?

Question

First off it was incidental I put it on my tongue and realized it was that pack so I went to take it out and I coughed so it just kind of went down. Please help

These can be one of two things, a "Dessicant pack" made to absorb water.

Typically this is food grade Silica Gel, essentially the same stuff used in

those super absorbent baby diapers.



There are also another type that are used that are primarily intended to absorb oxygen. These contain Iron powder and salt, sometimed with a little sawdust.



The same mixture in different proportions are used in disposable hand warmers.



Wanna make one of those hand warmers really work? Exhale through it a few times,

a trace of water can really get them going....



the same chemistry is used in the warming packs for US issue MRE entre'

Those have no sawdust in them and you dump water into them and they

will BOIL the water added from the resulting chemical reaction.

If you have vomited out what you ate, it is OK.Always see a pack before opening, for its expiry or instructions. Now advice is too late, it is better you take some anti bacterial stuff like lactobasili (Curd) of lactobasicilis capsules for a week. It has no side effects but it kills bad bacterias in your belly.

Oh no! Just drink alot of water and other fluids to flush it out of your system and it will make it less effective on you even though I don't think it is poisonous.

Smh your going to be ok. You'll poop it out in a day or two . Don't worry when I was a kid my mom would say don't put that in your mouth if you swallow it it will kill you. So i'd wait till she walked out of the room and i'd swallow what ever it was. Lmbo you would not believe the things I ate and lived, haha. Your going to be ok :-)

I ate that stuff as well! Mine was worse, the one out of the shoe box. But i suppose i'm still alive so i doubt you'll die!

It's not poisonous, just not intended for ingestion. Drink some extra water and you'll be fine.

It's ok, they can't put anything in there that will hurt you. Drink lots of water and other fluids for the next several days to push it through...
