How do you remove rice krispie treats from a pan and have them look good?

I am either making rice krispie treats or brownies for my church and cannot figure out a good way to remove them from the pan neatly. The sides and the bottom stick even though the baking dish is either teflon coated or pyres and I also use butter. Any suggestions?

cut a piece of wax paper the length of the pan so it has an overhang on each end, smoosh the rice krispy treats in the pan and once they are set, put the entire pan of cookies out by the overhangs on each end. then you can cut them precisely without wrestling them out of the pan.

take out of pan while still gooey and plyable, place in tupaware type rectangular container, press slightly to allow firmness, add sprinkles or candies. allow to cool before cutting.

if you truely have a difficult time with rice krispy treats, they have "kits" at the store, think its for the use of making them in the microwave

brownies are easier, buy box that you only need to add eggs, oil or water, double up a batch to make them thick!

You can simplify the recipe if you don't wish to use the bread as a bowl and just serve bread cubes with vegetables...and serve dip in a bowl :-) Spinach Dip 1 cup sour cream 1 cup mayonnaise (or Kraft salad dressing) 1 package Knorr vegetable soup mix 1 8 ounce can water chestnuts, drained and chopped 1 cup finely chopped red pepper 1 or 2 green onions, thinly sliced 1 package frozen chopped spinach 2 loaves of round sourdough bread or pumpernickel bread (pumpernickel is dark rye bread) or 1 of each Thaw the frozen spinach fully and drain well. Wring it out a bit with your hands to make sure it is well drained. Mix it with the other ingredients, except the bread, and refrigerate it (about 1-2 hours) to let the flavors meld together. Hollow out one of the loaves of bread with a knife, cutting the bread you remove into 2 inch chunks for dipping. I have specified 2 loaves of the bread because if you just get 1 there always seems to be dip left over and no bread to use it up. Cut the second loaf of bread into cubes for dipping. Place the hollowed out loaf of bread on a serving plate and fill the hollow with the chilled dip. Arrange the cubes of bread around the loaf and use them to dip. Tip: Using one loaf of white sourdough bread and one dark pumpernickel bread not only gives people a choice of breads, it makes the plate look prettier too. A crusty French or Italian bread works well too. Just don't use a soft bread as it breaks up as you are trying to dip it. Serve also with vegetables, crackers, and even goes great on a sandwich or wrap. ***forgot about the rice krispie squares: Kellogg's® Cocoa Krispies™ Choconilla™ Marshmallow Treats Prep Time 10 minutes Total Time 10 minutes Servings 12 Ingredients 3 tablespoons butter or margarine 1 package (10 oz. about 40) regular marshmallows - or - 4 cups miniature marshmallows 6 cups Kellogg's® Cocoa Krispies™ Choconilla™ cereal Directions 1. Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. 2. Add KELLOGG'S COCOA KRISPIES CHOCONILLA cereal. Stir until well coated. 3. Using buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cut into 2-inch squares when cool. Best if served the same day. Note: For best results, use fresh marshmallows. 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows. Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.' Store no more than two days in airtight container.

cafegirl has the best solution. Foil will also work for the rice krispies. For brownies, flower the pan and let it cool completely before removing them.

use parchment paper (its actually silicon coated paper which is used in bakeries).if you cant find it in the stores, the go to your local bakery and see if you can buy a few sheets from him or her. your brownies or krispie treats wont stick to the pan. spray some pam on the sides of the pan for a truly non-stick baking experience. suki

line the pan with parchment paper spray the pan first fo the paper will stay in place, then lightly spry the paper before pressing the treats in. That's the way we did it at school lunch room. Same with peanut butter chewy squares

I just rub some butter on a knife and cut them - they come out very well.
