Question:
What do "white people" eat for dinner?

Haha, not trying to be racist. It's just I'm Hispanic and I live in an area heavily populated with Hispanics, so if I go to someone's house we usually just eat what I eat, like something with beans and rice or we go and buy fast food. What do "white people" eat? Potatoes and peas and steak or.. I don't know. Is the food bland? Usually our food is really flavorful..

Any answers are appreciated, if they're not mean or anything. Again, not trying to be racist, my two best friends are white (they usually just get a pizza when friends come over), so I'm definitely not racist. Thanks ;P

I will call my answer "the spice of life", in other words we eat a little of everything. Chicken, Burgers, Steaks, Seafood, Italian, Chinese, i could go on and on. Yes some white folks are partial vegetarians like me who eat meat and vegetarian foods, and then you have those who are vegans, no meat or meat products at all. Like i tell my step-son broaden your horizons, and don't be scared, if ya don't like it don't eat it. Ask questions, and that is how you learn. My last foster home i was in, the family was hispanic, and let me tell ya that was the best food i ever had. I still remember my first morning there and what i had to eat, and it's been 25 years ago in June. So enjoy the spice of life and don't be afraid to try new things and to ask questions from your friends.

Well, we do eat a lot of chicken, steak, hamburgers. And you said dinner so I'm going to say that most white peoples dinner meals will include a main dish such as steak, or chicken, maybe even seafood. We usually will have a few side dishes with it like corn, peas, green beans, potatoes, gravy(if potatoes are mashed), some sort of salad-macaroni, fruit or leafy-and usually bread and butter is always on the dinner table too. Our food isn't near as spicy as mexican food.

A lot of times we eat meals inspired by other ethnicities. Just in the last week we had tacos with rice and black beans, spaghetti with garlic bread and oriental noodles w/peanut sauce. But we also had steak and baked potato, salmon w/rice pilaf and Manwich with pasta salad.

I love going to my Hispanic friends houses and having things like homemade tortillas and tamales. Homemade tamales are practically orgasmic.

It really depends on the individuals and their families since there's so many different kinds of "white" people.

For example, my friends of Italian descent tend to eat a lot of cheese bread and pasta...and they use a lot of tomatoes in their food. Italian food is far from bland, so saying that "white people" food is bland would be a huge overstatement. My bf's mom is British, but she likes to cook all kinds of Western European food (French, Swiss, German, and British). Generally, I would say every meal at my bf's mom's house would have mixed veggies (cooked), potatoes (mashed, baked, chunks, etc.), salad, and meat--and that goes for most "white families" that I've dined with. I would say that one characteristic difference between Hispanic food and European food is the meat. Hispanic food generally cuts up meat and mixes it with vegetables and herbs & spices, but Europeans tend to cook meat in bigger pieces (e.g. chicken breast, various steak cuts, etc.). The meat itself is probably less flavorful than the way meat is in Hispanic food, but the sauces and dressings we use for our meat compensates for that. Burgers and pizzas weren't so common when I went to friends' houses for dinner; it was more like party food in my experience.

Note: I may have grown up in a city that's heavily populated by "White" Americans, but do consider that I grew up in a very small city and that my experience may not be representative of all white people.

LOL Im white but grew up in an area thats like 99.9% Latino. I love spicy food and my mom liked spicy food. My dad who was Polish however did not.

He was a meat and potatoes man so we always had a meat (beef, chicken or pork) served with potatoes (mashed, boiled, fried or baked) and a vegetable (usually canned)

My mom made a lot of meatloaf, steak meat with gravy (she called it swiss steak) she would sometimes bake chicken pieces or make shake n bake pork chops. Her food was tasty...being Italian she used garlic quite a bit. My dad liked eating Kielbasa sauage with boiled cabbage and boiled potatoes UGH i hated that food yuck so tasteless.

"White" depends on where they came from I guess. Southern people like a lot of pepper and flavors, Eastern Europeans and probably Brits like boring boiled food

In North America, traditional "white people" food usually refers to British type food. But many whites are NOT of British extraction, and for most of them it's been so many generations since they came over from Europe that there is no longer a traditional food for them. Most of us older white people grew up with meat and potato meals, with salad or vegatables on the the side. But Italian, German, French ... well there are different cuisines and some families eat one way while other families eat another way.

More and more, we are eating all sorts of nationalities' dishes, and getting into Mexican food, Thai food, Mediterranean food, etc. Even vegetarian food.

I understand. I am white and also a vegetarian. What's in my fridge, freezer, cupboards and counters right now?:

papaya, mango, grapes, banana, cherries, melons, kiwi, summer squash, berries, fresh herbs, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, leafy greens like dandelion greens and lettuces, broccoli, carrots, celery, apples, bell peppers, cucumbers, baby tomatoes, raw food bars, coconut, potatoes (to make baked potato fries), yams, avocado

variety of canned beans (refried, lima, salad beans, baked beans, etc), soups, coconut milk, dried herbs and spices, frozen veg burritos, vegan pizza, whole grain rolls and raisin nut bread, hummus, pita, veggie burgers and veg hot dogs, salsa, all the condiments and fixings for everything like salads, pasta and saiuce, Indian meals, butternut squash ravioli, etc etc.

Basically I love fresh fruits and greens and veggies, international foods (Indian, Mexican, Italian, you name it), and I eat a ton of variety. But my mom and sis and dad and friends and boyfriend ALL eat completely different foods from me, and we are all white. My parents and friends and b/f eat meat, also. My twin sis is also a vegetarian and her diet is very different from mine. It's soo individual. Some people eat junk and fast foods, some like a lot of meats, some like Italian but hate Indian food, etc etc.

here's a run down of a typical week's meals..btw I cook at home and for our friends.

Savory meat loaf with brown mushroom/onion gravy, mashed & buttered potatoes, baby peas and glazed carrots

Meat Lasagna, crisp garden salad, garlic bread

Southern fried Chicken, fried okra, baked macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob

Pan grilled steel head trout, rice pilaf, brussel sprouts and carrots ( we love carrots)

Chili made with ground beef/chorizo-I use chipolte cayenne too as one of the flavorings. Home made corn tortilla chips

Glazed pork chops with apples...mixed greens, home made baked beans or hoppin john with rice.

Roast turkey & pan gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet potato casserole. Corn bread.

Other meals include chicken fried steak with sawmill gravy, home made chichen fingers, BBQ baby back ribs, Jambalaya, green fried tomatoes, marinated cuccumbers, couscous or quinoa pilaf, brown rice, bison burgers with all the fixen's and home made salads (potato, mac, cole slaw) roasted veggie combos, skillet hash browns or potatoes O'Brien, Bangers and Mash, Sauerbraten with gingersnap gravy & red cabbage, grilled steak, beef stew, baked ziti, chicken cacciatore......plus an assortment of home made soups and chowders. Chicken pot pie. Chicken & Dumplings. Chicken Parmesan, Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes & carrots. braised short ribs. Roast beef & veggies. Pulled BBQ pork for sandwiches.

Just for starters.

I'd say not a bland meal among them. I'm irish-american and grew up in the north..the Hubs is irish/english-american and grew up in the south. I've cooked since age 12...until he married me, the Hubs has Pappa John's Pizza on speed dial-I fixed THAT real quick. Plus I am a retired baker so I do a lot of breads, rolls, home made pita pockets, desserts.

i am white, and i love things cooked on a grill. I love Latin flavors and Asian flavors too. my food is not bland, i have competed in several BBQ contests and won, i like Tapas style and family style. I would have to say that my absolute favorite food is Korean BBQ! YUMMY!!! but Mexican is good too. i like Mediterranean food too. lots of sea food is always a good thing. happy eating, maybe you could just ask some of your white friends to make their family favorites. I would love that if another melanin would ask me to do that.

Depends on the white person, ask Jeffery Dahmer... no wait, he's dead. I think the mexicans killed him then ate some beans & rice.
